ADJUSTMENTS ARE A KEY ELEMENT of scoring in todays environment. Just like changing  angles, adjusting loft is an effective method of changing ball reaction. Adjusting loft allows players to manipulate when and where the ball begins to hook. Lofting the ball out on the lane delays the breakpoint and reduces overall hook. Adjusting loft  is as simple as standing up. To increase loft, simply reduce the amount of knee bend in the final step. Reducing loft is an effective adjustment on heavier oil patterns where more hook is desired. Less loft requires a deeper knee bend at release.Use a deeper knee bend in the stance and maintain that position throughout the approach.

Using loft as an adjustment allows you to stay in the zone of the lane longer, which is an important aspect of bowling on tournament conditions where a defined breakpoint is sometimes difficult to find.
