Full-roller is not the best ball for the lane surfaces of today
3/4 roll is much more effective in today’s game.

Most of the lane machines do not place conditioner on the
first 3 feet or so past the foul line. The reason for this is that
the machine travels down and back on the lane based on the
guidance of the gutters, and the oiling portion of the machine
extends slightly past the foul line at the beginning of its run.
