Long oil has been applied to a distance of more than 45 feet down the lane.
Short oil has been applied to a distance of 35 feet or less.
Long oil means your ball has a shorter distance to react on the dry backend before it
reaches the pins. Short oil means your ball has more room to hook.

For more speed in today’s bowling go to a lighter ball,
don’t try to increase speed by increasing back swing.
