No two perfect games ever are alike, but twice in bowling history, they have
been mirror images of one another. During a recent Fairlanes Classic league
session in Grandville, Mich., identical twins and teammates Paul Bently and
Pat Bentley Jr. each shot a 300 during the same game. That feat had been
accomplished only once previously, by New Yorkers Jeff and Jim Lizzo in 1995.
“We’ve been bowling together since we were about 8 years old, and we always
said that we wanted to do this,” said Pat Bentley. “It’s an unbelieved feeling
now that it has happened.” The twins led their team-which also includes their
father Pat Sr., Nate Burch and Tony Buck– to a 3897 total. That’s the third-
highest in sanctioned bowling history, and a new Michigan state record.
