The first thing is make sure you have a ball that’s strong enough to stop skidding
in the mid-lane (30 to 40 feet) and get into its hook phase. The big difference
between Sport Bowling and typical house lane conditions is that , form left to right
there isn’t an overly obvious free hook zone. There’s a much smaller mistake area.
It’s up to the bowler to create the mid-lane hook rather than having the lane do
the work for you.
