I always go through a good stretching routine prior to practice bowling. This
includes a few knee bends, as well as stretching of the legs and arm muscles.
My first practice balls are thrown relatively slow, with little attempt to increase
the speed of the ball until my body is ready. The last few practice shots
are used to find a line to the pocket. By slowly increasing your ball speed
during practice, you’ll avoid overextending your body, and thus avoid errant
shots in the opening frames of competition.
